For one day, my head shots became part of The Photographer’s Gallery.
There are some places photographers quietly hope they will one day be part of. For me, The Photographer’s Gallery in London has always been one of them. So when I was invited to take part in Folio Friday, it felt such a privilege. After years of visiting, I was exhibiting my women’s headshots there.
The day was about sharing work, receiving thoughtful feedback and learning from the journeys of other photographers.
But what made it truly special was later that afternoon, when the gallery opened to the public. It was lovely chatting with visitors about my work and hearing their reactions.
I am never surprised, but I am always pleased, when people ask me the story behind headshots for women. Once I explain, they often smile and say, “Oh… you are not just a headshot photographer. You offer therapy.”
And they are right.
