Before I even picked up the camera, I grew up on the shop floor of my family’s women’s clothing business. That’s where I learned how light, colour, and a little encouragement can transform how a woman sees herself.
One memory always stuck in my mind. A woman walked to the shop and I suggested an item of clothing for her to try and said, “Oh, No, thats not my colour” But after a gentle nudge, she gave it a go. She came out the fitting room, looked in the mirror and was surprised at how stunning she looked, fabulous.
That day, I learned that how we perceive ourselves, and how others see us, are rarely the same. That lesson has followed me into my work as a photographer.
