Why I feel Translucent Powder is a Vital for Flawless Results!

Why I feel translucent powder is a vital for your photoshoot – and how to apply it

The camera, especially under studio lighting will pick up shine more than the naked eye does. Even if you skin down oily the lines can exaggerate natural shine. Especially on the areas that are closest to the lens, for instance the forehead, nose and chin, causing a distraction to the image and often hard to photoshop out.

Translucent powder helps to:

  • Reduce your shine but without adding extra texture
  • Keep you makeup in place of much longer
  • Add a smooth, matte finish
  • And will voice unwanted flashback

What Kind of Powder Should I Use?

  • You need to look for finely milled, colourless (translucent) setting powder.
  • Ideally flashback free, lightweight and the correct colour for your skin type

Pro Tip for Headshots:

I tend to apply the powder continuously during the shoot, making sure to not leave out your ears, neck and under the eyes. Just a very light dusting.

A few simple swipes can make all the difference in how confident and composed you feel in your final images.
